WELCOME AAFITN 2023
| Dear Colleagues and Friends, It is with great pleasure and excitement that I extend to you all a very warm welcome to the 15th Biennial Congress of the Asian Australasian Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology. As the Congress President, I am honored to host this year’s congress in Hong Kong, which will take place from 13th to 15th October 2023. This is the first face-to-face meeting of the Federation after the COVID-19 pandemic, and it is truly an honor to come together once again. The Asian Australasian Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology consists of professional societies in interventional neuroradiology and endovascular neurosurgery. As a community of practice that is dedicated to advancing minimally invasive treatments for stroke, cerebral aneurysms, cerebral arteriovenous malformation, dural arteriovenous fistulae, and brain tumors, our shared goal is to improve the lives of our patients and to advance our field through education, research, and collaboration. It is my privilege to serve as the Congress President for this important event. My name is Professor Dr. George Wong, and I am a Professor in Neurosurgery at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I am grateful for the opportunity to host this Congress in Hong Kong and to bring together experts from around the world to share their knowledge and experience. The 15th Biennial Congress promises to be an exceptional event, with a wide range of topics that will be covered by internationally renowned experts. The scientific program will be diverse and inclusive, covering the latest developments in interventional neuroradiology and endovascular neurosurgery. We will have the opportunity to learn from one another, share our experiences, and engage in fruitful discussions that will undoubtedly lead to new insights and innovations. In addition to the scientific program, there will be ample opportunities for networking and socializing. Hong Kong is a vibrant and dynamic city, with a rich cultural heritage and a world-class dining and entertainment scene. We will have the opportunity to explore the city and its surroundings, to sample its culinary delights, and to enjoy its many attractions. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the members of the organizing committee, who have worked tirelessly to ensure that this Congress will be a success. Their dedication and hard work have been truly inspiring, and I am grateful for their support. Dear Distinguished colleagues and Friends, It is with great pleasure and excitement that I welcome you all to the upcoming biennial congress of the Asian-Australasian Federation of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (AAFITN) to be held in Hong Kong from October 13 to 15, 2023. As the President of the Hong Kong Society of Interventional and Therapeutic Neuroradiology (HKSITN), I take immense pride in extending a warm welcome to all of you who are going to travel from far and wide to participate in this premier event. Following the long tradition of every AAFITN congress, we aim to bring together leading experts, researchers, and practitioners in the fields of interventional neuroradiology and endovascular neurosurgery to share their knowledge, experience, and insights. The congress promises to be a platform for stimulating discussions and exchange of ideas, showcasing the latest advancements and innovations, and forging collaborations and partnerships.
